Fairway Industries believes that the application of it's equipment in the turf industry can and will increase profits, in most applications, by increasing the square yards of turf grown and harvested in a given amount of time. In other words, more harvests of more pallets and rolls in a given amount of time.
One example: If you are leaving say, 2 inch strips to help in the re-establishment of harvested grass. That 2 inch strip out of a 16 inch cut is 12.5 percent of your grass for that cutting. 12.5 percent of an acre is 5,445 square feet of grass, or just under 11 pallets (at 500 sq. ft. per pallet). If you took 4 of those pallets and put them back as plugs you would not only harvest 7 more pallets but, and even more importantly, the dispersed random pattern of plugs decreases your re-growth time. Don't forget, this is just ONE acre.

The same basic principals apply to initial turf establishment. The fact is, plugging will, in most applications, establish turf faster with less loss due to washing or stress from heat or cold than other methods. The correct Fairway Sod Plug Planter, in conjunction with the Ring-Roll Packer, properly used, will not only pay for themselves in short order but will make your operation more efficient.
