From a seat built into the side of the feeder, the operator regulates the speed at which the roll moves by use of hydraulic control. Netting is removed with an overhead spool as the sod roll unwinds into the machine. Once the grass is on the cutter head belt, the feed rate is timed to the cutter head speed.
